Meehl Foundation Counseling is a counseling service operated by Debra Meehl and
Lucinda Johnstone, is located in Lake Jackson, Texas, serves clients throughout
the Houston and Southeast Texas area.
Meehl Foundation Counseling, LLC., NLC provides Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Therapy and Skills Training, which has proven to be highly successful in the treatment of mood and personality disorders, such as Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety and Depression.
In conjunction with DBT Therapy, we conduct Skills Training classes and Life Coaching for family members and partners, adult consumers, and teens. In addition, we provide Psychological Testing and work closely with your doctor to insure the highest quality of care and to identify any areas of concern. This team approach, involving doctor, therapist and skills trainer, is highly successful in the treatment of mental illness and helping clients achieve long-term stability.
Meehl Foundation Counseling, LLC., also provides resource information to individuals from around the country, helping them locate DBT Therapist in their area and identifying local resources and information.
Why our program works. . .
Our program works because it encourages open communication and immediate access, thus enabling each client to work openly with their DBT team in distressful or emotionally unstable situations they face. This 24-hour access allows for the teaching and application of both DBT Skills and Life Skills in real time and real situations, leading to long term success and improved quality of life. Our team approach to care insures that each member of the team (Psychiatrist, Therapist, Skills Trainer, and Program Director) is fully aware of each client’s particular situation and needs.
