DISCOVER KAMBO: SACRED AMAZONIAN FROG MEDICINE

Kambo is a traditional healing ritual that calls upon the medicine of the Giant Monkey Tree Frog to facilitate a deep physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual cleansing process. Kambo’s multi-level purification process helps return you to a balanced, natural equilibrium by detoxifying and rebooting the immune system, releasing stagnant emotions, and clearing negative energy held within the body.
Used for centuries by Amazonian shamans to restore balance to the body, mind, and soul, Kambo is a powerful healing ally for anyone seeking to detox their life. Whether you are looking to heal addiction, physical dis-ease, mental illness, or emotional wounds, Kambo welcomes you with open arms and an invitation to step boldly onto the path of healing — with a warrior’s courage and a shaman’s wisdom.

Kambo uses the secretions of the Giant Monkey Tree Frog. This waxy substance is naturally produced by the frog as a form of protection. The frogs are captured humanely, and the secretion is gently collected by lightly scraping it from their legs and back before they are released back into the jungle. This is a careful and respectful process carried out with deep care for the animals.
Because this medicine is naturally produced — as a force of life moving through the frog — Kambo is regarded as a living medicine with an inherent spirit, rather than a synthetic or “dead” component like many pharmaceutical substances. It is this life force, this spirit, that is believed to guide the healing and purification journey.

The Science: Unlike many natural and pharmaceutical substances, Kambo has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and produce effects at the level of the brain. Human cells are said to open themselves to the beneficial properties of Kambo, rather than filtering and eliminating it through the body’s defense mechanisms.

Kambo contains a unique blend of bioactive peptides. Some perform hormone-like functions, while others support important cellular processes throughout the body. For more information, please visit the provided link.

The short answer: Yes.

The longer answer: Kambo is a powerful medicine and must be administered under the direct supervision of a trained practitioner, following established traditional practices. These methods have evolved over hundreds of years and are considered both safe and effective when properly applied.

Kambo is a strong purgative that initiates an intense biological response within the body.
It is administered by applying the wax to small, superficial burns created on the skin. Only the outermost layer of skin is affected, allowing the medicine to be absorbed through the lymphatic system. This process rapidly triggers a series of physiological reactions as the compounds travel through the body to the heart and across the blood-brain barrier.

Each individual’s experience is deeply personal and unique. However, commonly reported effects may include increased heart rate, sensations of warmth or heat, sweating, mild swelling, cramping, discomfort, and nausea that gradually intensify before culminating in a purge. Many participants describe a sense of relief following the purge.

Short-term after-effects may include heightened awareness, a sense of well-being, grounded presence, and a deeper sense of connection. Longer-term intentions often include emotional release, energetic clearing, and immune system support.
Large bell tents are provided for the ceremonies, and all tents are air-conditioned. Mattresses and blankets are available upon request to ensure comfort.
The retreat center also offers a shared kitchen and social space, an outdoor firepit, a garden, and expansive green areas for relaxation and reflection.
Simply bring your completed intake form and anything you feel will support your comfort during the experience.
Meals, snacks, blankets, and pillows are provided. Participants are welcome to bring personal comfort items within reasonable limits.
Kambo is generally considered safe; however, individuals with serious heart conditions, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone currently taking prescription medications are encouraged to contact us prior to participation.
A complete list of contraindications and considerations is available on the Intake Form.

Debral Meehl

I believe that nothing happens by accident. I was born into a family where my mother was an only child, and I was an only child. I would later come to understand why I was meant “to walk alone,” as a Native American seer once told me.

My DNA confirms that half of my ancestors traveled on the Mayflower, while the other half crossed the Bering Strait from Russia. This matters only as it relates to the dreams and visions I have experienced throughout my life.

When I met and married my soulmate, Mark, in 1999, my life changed profoundly. A year after our marriage, he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. My path led me from being a paramedic trained in psychological emergencies to becoming an ordained minister trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Over the years, I continued my studies, becoming a Clinical Hypnotherapist and later training as a Shaman.

Supporting those willing to engage in soul retrieval, work with totem animals, and pursue deep healing has always been my calling. For many years, I had no label for what I did. I simply followed guidance, learning to trust intuition, experience, and spiritual connection.

Walking this path has been both an honor and a challenge. There are timeless principles and life skills — many rooted in ancient traditions — that support this work and transformation.

No external authority can define or validate one’s spiritual path. The calling is deeply personal and experiential. Shamanism, for me, is not a title but a way of life.
