Remembering Mark…

With peace and love in our hearts, we must inform everyone that our partner Mark stepped lightly into the arms of our ancestors early Wednesday morning, October 29,2025

After a years-long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, he chose to transition on his own terms via VSED with compassionate support from the Death Care team at A Sacred Passing, surrounded by his family at Asphodel House.

Mark Meehl was part leprechaun, part prince, part Peter Pan, all stirred into a pot with a dash of hedonism and deep spirituality – endowed with a singular gift for awakening a deeper sense of worthiness, abundance, prosperity, joy, and purpose in others.

His greatest goal in life was to be a full-time housewife. Though it came at the hard price of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 45 years old, he would eventually realize that dream – a journey which led to the formation of the Meehl Foundation for Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder.

For 14 years, Mark was the housewife he'd always wanted to be as we ran the Meehl Foundation.

He was full-time in his commitment to the people who attended our retreats – and to their healing. Even in the lowest depths of illness, he used his experiences to create a pathway for the healing of others.

He was, without a doubt, our reason for being and our greatest advocate, even – and perhaps especially – when we transitioned to shamanic healing. To say that he was the wind beneath our wings is a deep understatement. He was the champion behind us all the time.

Just as he was for every single soul that passed through our home in those 14 years. Reminding us, always: "Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon… must inevitably come to pass."

Continuing his loving legacy will be a sacred joy and a deep honour.

Retreats will resume February 2026

Through the end of the year, we are taking much-needed time to grieve, to heal, and to re-center as a team and a family. All previously scheduled retreats for November, December, and January are CANCELLED as we navigate this first Holiday Season without our husband, father, and founder,

In memory of their vibrant partner and his love of adventure, Debra and Micheal will be taking time to complete the travel they all planned together.

We are blessing them with space to recuperate in the sunshine Mark so loved to enjoy, and to carry his Spirit with them to the beaches, temples, and sacred sites he longed to visit.

Embry and Greyson will be tending and re-consecrating the property throughout the winter months in preparation for February.

Additionally, Embry will be finalizing two new programs – ceremony facilitator training and practical herbalism – which will launch in 2026

We will return – refreshed, renewed, and recommitted – as the light returns at the Quickening of Imbolc.

In the meantime, our lines of communication remain open, and we will continue to accept registration for February 20-22.
