Soul retrieval or Soul Hunting is a shamanic form of therapy designed to find and bring back the lost parts of a person’s soul. Many ancient cultures worldwide believed that sickness and suffering happen due to fragments of the soul gone missing. That is a state that shamans and spiritual teachers call “soul loss.”
Soul loss can happen when someone experiences trauma. The traumatized soul leaves to find a place to hide and doesn’t want to come back so as not to experience the same pain again. In shamanic terms, a piece of the soul move to Lower World for safe-keeping by the Mother of all.
A soulful person is easy to spot. Such people are comfortable with who they are, they fully feel their emotions and their thoughts are in tune with their higher purpose.Soulful people have minds free of doubt and worry. They rarely complain and make choices without having to dwell on them for too long.
The soul can be imprisoned by ego or it can go missing. Losing a soul is losing a crucial part of ourselves which provides us with vitality.
If you feel like you’re missing a certain part of yourself or that you’re incomplete, that you’re not whole, you might have lost a part of your soul. Soul loss can often manifest as a chronic illness.
Some people also willingly give their soul parts to their friends or loved ones who unconsciously hurt them, they do this when there is a soul contract that needs to be rewritten. soul pieces are always given away because we are bargaining to save ourselves emotionally. Soul loss can also happen due to a traumatic relationship, child abuse, spousal abuse are the most com
Soul Loss:
1. You feel numb, empty and apathetic.
2. You feel depressed.
3. You don’t feel present in your body.
4. You can’t remember certain periods of your life.
5. You struggle with addictions and seek fulfillment in the external stimuli.
6. You feel like you’re not complete.
7. You feel disconnected.
9. You don’t feel as if you’re fully engaged with life or even alive for that matter.
10. You have a chronic immune system deficiency or you’re struggling with grief that lasts more than 6 months.
11. You struggle with insomnia.
12. You feel lost and out of touch with yourself. You can’t control yourself. You’re often distracted.
So it’s clear that the most common symptoms are what psychology calls “dissociative” symptoms.
Soul Loss can often happen in childhood when the psyche splits and detaches from inner and outer reality in order to avoid trauma.
By splitting, a child relegates the unacceptable part of itself and the emotions that belong to that part.
In terms of psychotherapy, it’s basically a defense mechanism that leads to being incapacitated, depressed, addictive, compulsive, anxious and fatigued. Soul Retrieval is the answer
Dissociative symptoms can be experienced as daydreaming or being lost in your thoughts, confusion or inability to handle responsibilities. They can even spiral into disruptive behavior.
Soul loss can be the cause for society’s problems such as crime, workaholism, addiction, terrorism, and war.
When someone experiences Soul Loss, he/she is also experiencing chronic fatigue because his/her spirit is unconsciously searching to restore the lost life force and the whole process can be draining.
Here are some of the reasons why you are experiencing Soul Loss:
1. You experienced emotional, physical, sexual or mental abuse.
2. You experienced prolonged pain, fear or grief.
3. You felt helpless for too long.
4. You were rejected or abandoned.
5. You were forced to act against your will.
Soul Retrieval
Before venturing into a Soul Retrieval with your shaman, it’s wise to refrain from drinking alcohol or ingesting mind-altering substances a week before and after your ceremony.
It’s also good to spend time in nature before, after and during the process.
Take note of the looping patterns of your behavior and situations in your life. Release yourself from that loop.
Shamans call upon the power of their spirit helpers, teachers, and power animals to get a sense of when, where and why did the soul loss occur.
When the lost part of the soul is found, shamans and their helping spirits engage with it and invite it back home.
Sometimes a lost soul may be protected in the spirit world by a power animal or a guardian. An ancestor spirit can also keep it safe or it can be stolen so that the shaman has to bargain for it.
Sometimes, the soul can be reluctant to return or it may be unaware that it got separated. When it comes back, it brings back the pain that caused it to leave. The shaman uses many tactics to convenience the soul to return
During the process, the shaman is in an altered state of consciousness and may feel that pain in the spirit world.
If the shaman’s negotiations with the soul and soul keepers are successful and the soul is retrieved you will feel grounded, energized, alive, awake, invigorated, aware, and complete.
That’s how you’ll know that the retrieval was successful.
