The Science: Unlike many natural and pharmaceutical substances, Kambo has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and produce effects at the level of the brain. Human cells are said to open themselves to the beneficial properties of Kambo, rather than filtering and eliminating it through the body’s defense mechanisms.
The short answer: Yes.
The longer answer: Kambo is a powerful medicine and must be administered under the direct supervision of a trained practitioner, following established traditional practices. These methods have evolved over hundreds of years and are considered both safe and effective when properly applied.
Each individual’s experience is deeply personal and unique. However, commonly reported effects may include increased heart rate, sensations of warmth or heat, sweating, mild swelling, cramping, discomfort, and nausea that gradually intensify before culminating in a purge. Many participants describe a sense of relief following the purge.

I believe that nothing happens by accident. I was born into a family where my mother was an only child, and I was an only child. I would later come to understand why I was meant “to walk alone,” as a Native American seer once told me.
My DNA confirms that half of my ancestors traveled on the Mayflower, while the other half crossed the Bering Strait from Russia. This matters only as it relates to the dreams and visions I have experienced throughout my life.
When I met and married my soulmate, Mark, in 1999, my life changed profoundly. A year after our marriage, he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. My path led me from being a paramedic trained in psychological emergencies to becoming an ordained minister trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Over the years, I continued my studies, becoming a Clinical Hypnotherapist and later training as a Shaman.
Supporting those willing to engage in soul retrieval, work with totem animals, and pursue deep healing has always been my calling. For many years, I had no label for what I did. I simply followed guidance, learning to trust intuition, experience, and spiritual connection.
Walking this path has been both an honor and a challenge. There are timeless principles and life skills — many rooted in ancient traditions — that support this work and transformation.
No external authority can define or validate one’s spiritual path. The calling is deeply personal and experiential. Shamanism, for me, is not a title but a way of life.
